Drivers Edge

This past weekend we took the kids to a program called Drivers Edge. It is sponsored by Bridgestone and some guy out of Las Vegas started it up. GREAT program! My niece and one of our friends sons felt like they were signed up for something they didn't want to do. I was told later that my niece talked about that whole night and even wore her free shirt the next day she loved it so much! Anywho, the kids take a little pretest

They drove an obstacle course slamming on their brakes to test the ABS

Exceeded tasks that they never thought they would

That they looked cool getting out of a BMW..Hello, it ain't your car...driving it doesn't make you that cool!

Learned how to come out of a spin and not flip them and their friends over...

All in all, it was a great day. 4 hours flew by and hopefully we took home 5 kids that were better drivers than they were when they arrived!

ouch...

ok, I know you 3 loyal readers are waiting on pics from drivers edge this weekend. The truth is I can't post them... I had all intentions of posting them after lunch...but that was when I was feeling fine...I'm not fine now! I listened to my sister, who might I add has a pain tolerance of like 1000, about getting my eyebrows threaded instead of waxed... She said that she liked it better, so I thought, hey, I'm a little bushy around the eyebrows so I'll try it.. so today was the day. First off, I pull my number and sit down to wait and I take a gander at the TV. It has a movie on that I can't understand, AT ALL! I think it was Indian, and not the american Tonto kind. Soon enough my number was called though and I was up and at em'..
First she puts a little powder on them, harmless enough, smells good, I'm happy.. then she pulls out this long piece of thread comes near my eyes with it has me holding my eyelid shut (so I can't see what the hell she is about to do me) and above my eyebrow open... I know you can't get the visual but I figured out what she really had me doing and I'll clue you in later.
Ok, so here I am holding my eye shut and all of a sudden it hits me. Not one fast pull like with waxing, it like a machine gun is going off on my eyebrows... ping, ping, ping, heck I can't even describe it. She does it so dang fast I can't think, after the first one I think Je, then the next Jesus, then the next one Jesus Christ, it is so fast and so painful that is all I can think... then finally she is done and I think JC, (Short for Jesus Christ because I had to think fast before next one) what the heck is going on? Barb said this didn't hurt, surely she wouldn't lead me astray... than all of a sudden she has me holding my eyes and starting on the next one....I thought I was going to come straight out of the chair! I was in some serious pain! It is a good thing they are fast and I am holding my eye shut (mostly in fear she might mistake my eyelashes and start on them next) or I would have jumped right out of the chair.
Then comes the killer she starts on my upper lip...I had told her before hand oh sure, go ahead, its a little hairy... well, it wasn't hairy enough to endure that dang pain I went through to get it off there...next time, I'm not listening to Barb when she says oh sure, go ahead it doesn't hurt...this afterall is coming from the girl who broke her ankle at the skating rink and never shed a tear...I'm not talking just a little crack, I'm talking right in half, screws, plate and all..with not a tear... don't tell her, but as I walking out of the salon I was wiping a few off my cheeks!

What a difference a couple of days makes!

We are starting to make progress on the garage! Wahhhoooooo it is so exciting!
The next 2 pictures were from Tuesday I think.

Then we went up last night and this is what we saw...just 2 days later, we had walls, roof, sides, & insulation! We were more than thrilled!!!

We are so excited to see this project wrapping up...having someone do the construction and you not being able to stand over them supervising is not fun... we are going to start on the bathroom and closet really soon... yeah!!!!

Easter kiddos

We had quite a few kids for our hunt this year. The older Tyler gets the more it isn't the same... I miss him being little and hunting for eggs! I miss eating the candy..hahaha...well, this year he wasn't even there. He was working. I still somehow got rooked into hiding the eggs. I'm anxious to see if we find any in the next few weeks that were never found! That is always fun.
Well, here are a few of my favorites:

She looks bored....

wait..so does she....

This one here, he is a quiet one...so is his twin brother...

Ryan, well, he is a BOY all the way...what you can't see is he is holding a rat that was found in the AC wiring.... he was dead and Ryan had a great time scaring all the girls with it! He also is wearing Tylers old shorts because he had already fell in the mud...all boy I'm tellin ya!

This one here, well she found quite a few prize eggs and was having to give some up...she didn't like the idea at all!

The other quiet twin...

I think Chase has the look on his face that he didn't get any prize eggs because his sister has them all!

I think this one is guarding her eggs so her prize egg hog of a sister doesn't steal them! haha...

This one is a real cutie...

This is just a portion of the kids (and parents) that were there hunting...

Easter baking

I know, it has been a couple of days and some people...(barb) is wanting to probably show her coworkers our baking...so this post is committed just to that!
We have to start out first with the Bakerella Pops...No, these do not look quite as good as the Bakerella ones...but we gave it an awesome shot...
Ok, so here is the chick.... it think that it turned out rather cute myself...we all like the chicks the best...they were easy!

Next up is the rabbit...not bad...we had a little trouble with the pens so we have to research and get some better ones of those!

Next up is the whole basket...we made some eggs too. They were the most work because you had to get creative on them...but they were fun... When all was said at midnight on Friday night we were finally done!

Now, I can not take credit for these little gems...my mom and Vicky did them. Before you ask, the baskets are made out of chow mein noodles...are they not the cutest? I think people were afraid to eat them as we had some left...but I thought they were adorable!!!!

Now for the crew...
This is my aunt Vicky...when she see this post she will kill me...she didn't want any pics because she didn't have any make up on...boo hoo... she looks great anyway!

This is my sister and my mom...my poor mom got stuck holding her grand dog...bear is such a toot...he always wants me to hold him.... Steve was taking pics so granny was next in line to have to hold him...hey, its a tough job but someone has to do it!

Barb, me and Vicky

Here is mom...she took time out to take a pose...

Vicky...again, she is going to kill me...

Then lastly here is me... I'm no Bakerella we have established that! But we all had fun!

progress

I know, you are tired of seeing pics of the land...but we are so excited! The garage is starting to take shape. Finally! We went up for a little while last night, had a delicious dinner that my mom and aunt fixed, took pics, and came back. Steve is going for the next couple of days. It's hard to keep him away from there..... I'm guessing most of the summer we will drive back and forth instead of staying in town. anywho..here are some pics.

Heres the garage shell. Hopefully they will be done with the steel tomorrow then start with the sides. Everything isn't delivered yet...but I am hoping in about a week we have a building!

This is a pic of the house pad and the garage.

Our pond...it is finally full. I can't wait to just pull up a chair or blanket and sit out by it. It looked so peaceful last night.

Another pond pic. You can see our house pad and camper if you look hard in the upper right of the pic....up until I looked at this picture this morning I had never thought about how close it was to the house...then it hit me...Snakes...I'm going to have to learn to shoot a gun...killing those things with a shovel IS NOT AN OPTION for me! Happy Hump day yall!!

Pics finally!

We went up to the land last night and I downloaded pics..so here they are.
The garden is all in bloom. We had a freeze last weekend but Vicky and mom took out every thing in the house they could to cover everything up. It all survived. Everything is doing great! Steve is already eating the radishes and onions....

We have had quite a bit of rain lately. Thankfully! Our pond is now full!!! We have waited quite a while for it. I'm so excited! Now we can go get fish and stock it. I can't wait for my dad to catch his first fish out of it!

We went over to Amy and Aarons...they had a new addition the night before. A new calf. He was soo cute! Mama was protecting him big time!

And here, well, here is the progress on the garage... it is sloooowwwww... the rain is delaying everything. I hate it. We had figured that it would be up long before now and we would be starting on the bathroom in it. I know, patience... I HAVE NONE! The wind has blown like it is freaking Chicago here, and rained... We will be lucky if they get it built before July!

And finally, here is my baby... I will miss him this weekend while I am gone! I might actually get more than 1 foot wide of the bed to sleep on! He is really, really dirty in this pic! He loves going out there and tromping around. His allergies bothered him afterwards though...I don't know if this is before or after he and sugar ate the rabbit poop... YUCK! He thinks he is a country dog...
