Crafty Crap

Ok, I am posting this in hope that the receiver of this gift is NOT going to read my blog until she gets back from our Birthday weekend this weekend. I threw together a gift for a couple of the girls who's birthdays we are celebrating this weekend. They like wine, which was hard as heck for me because I am not a wine drinker at all!!! I go straight for the good stuff, CROWN! Anyway, here is something I put together for their weekend away from their families to be a little more relaxing, wine, a juicy magazine, and chocolate. What more do they need except for sleep? Yall have a great weekend, I know that we will. Check out hippie chicks blog http://hippiehickchick.blogspot.com/ to see the big plans!

Thank god for breathe strips

I have had 2 straight nights of sleep. Now, when I say sleep, I mean 7 straight hours of uninterrupted sleep. I used to wake up in the mornings (ok, not on my own, I have to have Steve call to wake me up...) more tired than when I went to bed the night before. I finally woke up a couple of times one night to his snoring and it was enough. It was time to call in the experts. After some begging from me, some whining from him about how much it hurts when he rips them off the next morning, he finally gave in! I have been sleeping soundly every since. Who would have thought that some little strip across your significant others nose would make you such a happy camper? I have been waking up in the mornings when he leaves and not going back to sleep. I have not had to be drug out of bed or gone to work unshowered because I just wanted to get another 10 mins of non-snoring sleep in. LIFE IS GOOD!

How does 4 days go so fast?

It seems as if I left work early on Wednesday and the next 4 days were a blurr. Time flew so fast. Progress on the house is going good. Not as fast as one pushy female in our house would like it, but it is going. We were finally able to set up the living room on Saturday night. Everything is cleaned and dusted, the floors done, new paint, new baseboards....and let me tell you...IT LOOKS FABULOUS!!! Man, why didn't I do this when I moved in? Why do I have to wait until we go to sell it to make all of these great changes? I am not doing that on the next house! The entry way is almost finished...by almost I mean I painted as high up the walls as I possibly could and now I have to either rent scaffolding or hire someone to finish. Let me tell you, unless it is cheap, I am climbing my fat rear up 15 feet of scaffolding to paint it. Everyone needs to say some prayers for me on that day!!! The dining room/office is coming along nicely, it has 2/3 of the floors done and it is painted and baseboard ready. So basically, what I am saying, I needed another 4 days to get done with everything!!! Basically we didn't get to use 2 of the 4 days as we had the Thanksgiving thing on Thursday and on Friday we went to the land. Steve and Doye cut down several trees and burned them. That project is a whole nother blog itself! Have a great day getting back in the swing of work today!

Is the whole year about Christmas???

I am so tired of Christmas starting in July. I mean come on, whatever happened to Halloween and Thanksgiving? The isles are full of Christmas items and whether you need them now or not, you had better buy them or they will be gone. All the crazy fools that buy in October have already bought up the good stuff!!! I refuse to buy Christmas decorations when I am wearing shorts and flip flops! Good gracious! At any rate, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Let us all show our thanks to our loved ones around us. For those that I will not see tomorrow, I thank you for being a part of my life. I am surrounded by such good people all the time. I want to thank all the girlfriends that sit around and listen to me gripe about life's little stuff that I turn into big stuff. I want to thank my mom and sister for coming over to help me with whatever jam I have gotten myself into that I really need help in finishing up. I am thankful to Tyler for being such a great kid. I know that I gripe about him, but he really is awesome! So yall don't eat too much turkey and have a good long weekend!
