My Dad

I haven't talked my dad since Monday. That is the longest I have gone in a long time. I try to call him daily. I really am lucky to have him around. I almost lost him a couple of years ago in a wreck. He fell asleep at the wheel. I remember getting the call from the hospital in Tyler that morning. We have your dad here and he is ok. What the heck? Ok to them and ok to me might be two totally different things! Tyler of course was there to go make that long drive with me. Thank goodness. I was shaking like crazy. When I got there and found out he only had a slight cut on the head I was so relieved. At that point, I didn't know how serious the accident really was, until a couple of days later and I went to see if his truck was salvageable. That was a little bit of a wake up call to me. I try to call him every day now, if not every other day. I have tried to take a more active role, but I always feel like it isn't enough. Here are some pics of his truck. Lord only knows how he made it alive. There was not one inch on that truck that didn't have something wrong with it.

Thankfully he is still around to do this with Tyler on occasion...
